What is CAPM?
It is an entry level certification for Project practitioners by PMI. This credential is specifically designed for professional who have either little or no project management experience. Having CAPM credential strongly demonstrate your understanding of the fundamental knowledge, terminology & process of effective project management.
Why CAPM?
Project management skills are in demand. A survey conducted globally by the Economist Intelligence Unit, revealed that the majority of executives explicitly identified project management as “the most important skill for their current and future success.” And in a recent news World Report study revealed that project management is one of the top three skills employers are looking for.
Perquisites for CAPM
A high school diploma or the global equivalent secondary Degree AND either At least 1,500 hours of project management experience
OR 23 hours of project management education.
Exam Format
150 Multiple choice questions, out of which 15 are pre-test questions. Allotted time is 3 hours.
Certificate is valid for 3 years and 15 PDUs are required in 3 years to maintain certificate validity for next 3 years.
Exam Fee
For PMI members it is Rs. 17,377 & for non-members it is Rs. 23,169.
For PMI members it is USD 225 & for non-members it is USD 300.
Exam Duration
3 hours computer-based testing.
